The Perspective gallery will host the exhibition of photographs by Christopher Schneberger

Perspective Gallery is proud to present “The Wanderers” by fine art photographer Christopher Schneberger. This new series of semi-narrative paintings imagines a band of young explorers traveling through the territory. The young women in the series both portray the fantasy of expeditions imagined by childhood and illustrate the idea of ​​getting lost and finding one’s way.

Christopher Schneberger is a Chicago photographer whose work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Exhibits include: The Los Angeles Center for Digital Art and the Annenberg Space for Photography, both in Los Angeles; Dorsky Projects in New York, Geocarto International in Hong Kong and Blank Wall Gallery in Athens, Greece. His work is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke, Virginia, the Mary and Leigh Block Museum in Evanston, Illinois, and the Flanders Gallery in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is a two-time recipient of an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Illinois Arts Council. He is currently a lecturer in photography at the University of Vincennes where he is also director of the Shircliff Gallery. Previously, he was an adjunct professor at the School of the Art Institute, Columbia College Chicago, and the College of DuPage. He is co-founder and former chairman of the board of directors of Perspective Gallery, where he continues his involvement. He has curated numerous photography exhibitions and been a guest artist at numerous colleges including Iowa State University, Indiana University, Kendall College of Art, and Western Michigan University. He holds a BFA from the University of Florida and an MFA from Indiana University.

The exhibition will take place from December 2, 2021 to January 3, 2022 at the Perspective Gallery, 1310-1/2B Chicago Avenue. The Gallery will hold a vernissage on Saturday December 4 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and a discussion with the artist will take place on Thursday December 16 at 7 p.m.

Founded in 2010, Perspective Group and Photography Gallery is a non-profit community cooperative whose goal is to promote fine art photography. In addition to monthly group and featured artist exhibitions, the gallery offers a series of guest speaker talks, monthly artist talks, an annual national juried exhibition, an annual invitational exhibition, an annual Vicinity exhibition and an annual juried exhibition for the Chicago area high school. students.
