(BRANCHBURG, NJ) — The Arts & Design department at Raritan Valley Community College will present Widening the gaze on photography: from realism to abstractionan exhibition featuring the work of 10 photographers, from January 19 to February 18, in the art gallery on the College’s Branchburg campus.

The exhibition showcases each photographer’s signature style, creating a visual survey of what contemporary photography offers as an artistic discipline. The work highlights traditional aspects of two-dimensional design, printmaking, painting, color theory and still life. The bond between the artists is their commitment to the art of photography and their invention of original and memorable images. Subjects range from political issues to the sheer beauty of the world, while processes range from street photography to studio produced work. The result is an exhibition that strikes a balance between experimental and traditional imagery.

Exhibiting artists include: Donna Bassin, Montclair; Patricia Bender, Somerset; Kevin Hinkle, Asbury Park; Eileen Hohmuth-Lemonick, Princeton; Neil O. Lawner, New York, NY; Donald Lokuta, Pittsboro, North Carolina; Morgan Strus-Allen, Oxford; Annalyse Varlow, South Brunswick; Guillaume Vandever, Sayreville; and Jane Wagoner Deschner, Billings, Montana.
