Photography exhibition inaugurated at Lalit Kala Akademi

New Delhi: Lalit Kala Akademi, on the occasion of World Photography Day, organized a ‘Photography Exhibition’ today at the galleries of Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi.

The exhibition was opened by eminent photographer Padma Shree, Shri Raghu Rai in the presence of President of Lalit Kala Akademi Smt. Uma Nanduri.

The theme of the exhibition is India’s freedom struggle sites, forts, mountain, ancient temples and heritage sites of India. A total of 1603 entries from 423 artists were received from all over the country for the photography exhibition. Among these, the jury selected 135 photographs to be exhibited in the exhibition.

Lalit Kala Akademi, promotes and encourages art and artists in the field of painting, graphics, ceramics, sculpture, photography, etc. for more than 7 decades. To celebrate 75 years of India’s independence, the Akademi has organized various events and activities such as camps, exhibitions, lectures, workshops, seminars, etc. under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Shri Raghu Rai said on this occasion that this exhibition comes at a very good time as we celebrate 75 years of Independence. He also praised the selection of photographs.

The exhibition will remain open until August 28, 2022.
